In Blow To Conservatives, NY Post (Grudgingly) Endorses Hillary Clinton

"The Post today also endorses Hillary Rodham Clinton for re-election to the United States Senate.

Surprised?

Well, so are we - a little. ... Mrs. Clinton, well, she's been a pretty good senator - popular with her colleagues and as productive as a first-term legislator from the minority party probably can be."

They knew Murdoch did a fundraiser for Hillary some time ago

I'm sure they're not scratching heads much about this.

It's that other stuff that's gnawing at them.

She and Murdoch have become quite buddy-buddy in recent years and I understand why. Her husband did so much to make corporate media cosolidation possible.

The Post owned by Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch is a Hillary fundraiser.

And here's why, from the editorial. They like her because she's not a progressive Democart but a hawkish centrist >

"Think of her as Sen. Pothole Redux (apologies to Alfonse D'Amato).

Meanwhile, her positions on numerous issues - particularly involving national security - have been much closer to the political center than we would have expected. "

Meh, they go with the winner
Like the Herald backing Teddy, there's no benefit to endorsing someone who has zero chance.

They are likely going with the winner all the pollls indicate she is crusing towards a massive victory in the 65-70 percent range.

What else could they do? Spencer is a complete joke even a rightwing rag can get and they know Hillary isn't nearly as "left" as they get off on pretending she is.

Only because the Republican, John Spencer, is such a cipher. She's basically running unopposed.

Let her become Senator again. Maybe it will take away any aspirations of hers to become president. She is being positioned as the 2008 Democratic candidate more so by Repukes than Democrats, likely because they think she would be easy to defeat.
There are many better choices available.
