Foley Could Be Prosecuted Under Laws He Helped Enact

The FBI has opened a "preliminary investigation" of disgraced former Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL) over the sexually explicit Internet messages he sent to congressional pages, all male high school students under the age of 18.

The FBI's Cyber Division is examining the texts of the messages, while the FBI and the Justice Department determine how many e-mails were sent, how many computers were used, and whether any of the pages will cooperate with the investigation.

Ironically, Foley could be prosecuted under laws he helped to enact, as the co-chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children.

The one thing I was dismayed at was this guy Steve Gobie said he felt bad for Foley and his family. I can agree with feeling bad for the family because they didnt ask to be placed in this spot. But to feel bad for Foley? I dont think so! Plus I dont know about this Gobie guy. What kind of an “escort” service did he run? Was it legit or did he just use the words “escort service” instead of saying what he really is and thats a pimp.

I have heard some people say they feel sorry for Foley and his family. I can agree with feeling bad for the family because they didnt ask to be placed in this spot. But to feel bad for Foley? I dont think so! The only thing I feel for Foley is he should be chemically castrated and do prison time. You do not do what he did to a teenager. I dont care if you are Democrat or Republican. Party lines do not play into this.

And then to hear Brian Wilson on Fox News call the pornographic emails between Foley and this teenager "inappropriate emails"? Come on, give me a break. We have got to stop sugar coating bad behavior.

OK, Foley resigned in disgrace, as well he should have. And yes Republicans have moral clarity when caught doing wrong and have resigned, as opposed to Democrats. There are documented sexual encounters between Democrats and teenagers and those Democrats didnt resign and got re-elected. And no, I am not talking about Clinton. But in no way shape or form should that excuse what he did.

Today on Drudge he comes out and says he’s an alcoholic. OK get the help you need in order to beat that demon. Then you go to jail.

I have no patience for those who want to harm a child.

Anonymous, Barney Franks' boyfriend ran an illegal prostitution ring out of his townhouse. Franks claimed not to have known anything about it.

This is exactly what I am talking about. Many of you are conflating the e-mails with the IMs. The e-mails that Wilson referred to were not pornographic. The IMs that were sent to other former pages, were sexually explicit. Let's try to keep it straight.

Trinity parsing words.
Who the hell cares if it was an email or a IM?
Same effect. Just as harmful and incriminating.
