Bush Administration Uses Spin To Describe Their "Success," Clinton's "Failure" In North Korea

"Here's the CNN brief on their article about (Condoleeza) Rice blaming Bill Clinton for the president's latest failure.

CNN: U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Tuesday defended the Bush administration's refusal to hold bilateral talks with North Korea in the face of Pyongyang's claim of a successful nuclear test. She told CNN the Clinton administration tried that approach in the 1990s and it had failed.

... (L)et's review the salient facts one more time.

"Failure" =1994-2002 -- Era of Clinton 'Agreed Framework': No plutonium production. All existing plutonium under international inspection. No bomb.

"Success" = 2002-2006 -- Bush Policy Era: Active plutonium production. No international inspections of plutonium stocks. Nuclear warhead detonated.

Face it. They ditched an imperfect but working policy. They replaced it with nothing. Now North Korea is a nuclear state.

Facts hurt. So do nukes."

good question, but Tony Snow today said it didn't matter, because North Korea had the intent to become a nuclear state.

Clinton deserves the "Medal of Freedom" for being the scapegoat for all of the Republican woes!! I'll bet Clinton never thought he could make the repukes act so badly, cause them to make so many mistakes, cause them to lose so much of their morality and could cause so many repukes to lose their direction in life! The repukes should pay Clinton for taking on their sins so they can feel squeaky clean!!

Now they are saying there was radiation. I have come to the conclusion that we are getting our news too fast and nobody is fact checking. Everyone wants to be the first with the story.

I wish someone in the MSM would ask Bush when his administration realized that Clinton's policy toward N. Korea was a failure!! If it was recent, then a follow up question would be: Are you then saying that you did not realize the failure for 5.75 years or did you choose not to do anything about it in the 5.75 years??

If Bush were to say they realized it in 2001 after taking office, then a follow up question would be: Are you saying that you knew Clinton's policy was a failure in 2001 and you did nothing about it for 5.75 years??

So in either case, the question would be: Are you saying you knew for 5.75 years that the Clinton policy was a failure and you did nothing about it, even after you stated that N. Korea was part of the "axis of evil"?? The 2nd question would then be: was the reason you did nothing in the 5.75 years was because you thought that there was enough sheep in country that would believe you if you said it would be Clinton's fault??
