Analysis: Democrats Likely To Regain Control Of House

With three weeks to go until Election Day, Electoral Vote.com has Democrats picking up 23 House seats -- more than the 15 needed to regain control.

It should be noted that the site only considers non-partisan polls.

Additionally, the site shows four other seats held by Republicans that are dead heats, and several other races which are expected to be competitive have not been polled recently.

Three weeks can be a lifetime in politics. But things are looking promising.

Yeah and John Kerry was suppose to win the presidential race too. I for one stopped listening to polls after that one. We will all see come that Wednesday morning whether or not our country will be protected or we will be on the verge of carrying prayer rugs to work.

Sorry, but the fix is in on this election too. This time they will do it with massive selective purges in four critical midwestern states with Republican Secretaries of State. Republican media spinners like Mara Liasson are already preparing us for the surprise. Two days ago she told us that the Dems are pumped for the election, but that the Reps are always better at getting out the vote (code for stealing elections).

Perhaps this paranoid individual missed the recent intelligence estimates from the Bush Administration, backing up the State Department and just about every global intelligence source on terrorism these last several months, that the Republican-initiated mess in Iraq was directly responsible for dramatically increasing global Jilhad, and has already caused the Al Queda attacks in Spain and London.
Could Democrats possibly do any worse?

Not exactly true. Heading into the election, the polls showed Bush up by 2. He won by 3.

The Democrats thought that Kerry might win either Ohio or Florida, based on exit polling that morning that showed Kerry ahead in Ohio and neck-and-neck in Florida. Neither win happened, of course, and Bush won.

In this case, the polls show the Democrats with enough leads to win control of the House, and several other races neck-and-neck. You add in the neck-and-neck races, and conceivably the Democrats could win 30 or more seats.

But all the Dems need is 15. If the polling is accurate, they have enough.
