You Can't Make This Stuff Up ...

A Sept. 19 article in the Los Angeles Times, on the political price John McCain may be paying for his stance on torture and coercive interrogation, contains this remarkable paragraph:

"This very definitely is going to put a chilling effect on the tremendous strides he has made in the conservative evangelical community," said the Rev. Louis P. Sheldon, chairman of the Traditional Values Coalition, one of several conservative activists who support Bush's proposal on interrogation techniques.

As the Washington Monthly's Kevin Drum noted: "Apparently an unrestricted right for the CIA to abuse prisoners is now a traditional value. Crikey."

If sheldon had his way non-christians and those who offend the sensibilities of religious zealots would be tortured in this country. That's why we must remain every vigilant so sheldon and his kind don't get their way. Torturing and hating in the name of Jesus Christ and in a tax exempt status. How fucking humane.

Heck, I think they must be "christian" sacraments, the way some of the RWers salivate over them.

Sometime agressively interrogating innocent suspects is the price to pay
to wind the hearts and minds of the Islamic moderates.

Because sometimes, we do get it wrong.

But like collateral damage, that is the price innocent people must pay for OUR victory!!

*sarcasm alert*

I guess "christians" or repuks want people to follow only those laws of the Bible that fit their liking or lifestyle just like the repuks want to follow our constitutional law. Keep this up and the "terrorist" can sit back and laugh their asses off while we destroy from within and they WIN! No doubt they are laughing their asses off right now at how the repuks are lowering our moral standing almost to zero in the world.

The other thing the "terrorist" are laughing their asses off about is how the repuks boast of being so patriotic in their verbal support of the war in Iraq, but then they are such "chickenhawks" not one of them are enlisting in the military to do anything about it.

It always astounds me that those that yell the loudest "go getem boys", "beat the sh.t of outem boys", "torture the crap outem boys", and "I'm right behind you boys"( as far behind you as possible)are the "Chickenhawk" repukes. 99.9% have never been in combat, in the military or near anything military. I'm for drafting every repuke and sending them to Iraq. It will accomplish at least two things:
1. Give some relief for those fighting there now.
2. Raise our moral standing in the U.S. by 500%!

Every time I read the hateful, inane garbage that you guys spout here on JABBS, I'm struck anew at how ignorant, naive and bereft of common sense most of you truly are.

You really are like a bunch of little children, which is why it's so terribly important to keep the adults in charge of protecting this nation, as opposed to anyone who "thinks" as you do.

I guess you will think this inane garbage - Wars are started by the rich to make money and fought by the poor who die for it. In World War II the distribution of the rich, middle class and the poor was not as bad as it is now in Iraq. I found these statistics the other day on the internet about the troops fighting in Iraq:

34% poor, 50% middle class and 17% wealthy ( mostly General officers).

And you my dear Trinity fit the definition of John Deans "Conservative Without Conscience" to a tee. I am sure if he would have read your post before finishing his book, your name would be in it.
