You Can't Make This Stuff Up ...

How desperate is Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) to get re-elected?

When he's not lying about opponent Bob Casey Jr.'s ties to Al Jazeera or making misleading claims about discovering Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, seems Santorum has been asking his supporters to pour thousands of dollars into the campaign of Green Party candidate Carl Romanelli.

"(T)o all the Republicans who supported our campaign, I say thank you," Romanelli told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Facing a double-digit deficit, it seems politics has once again made strange bedfellows.

As the Washington Post noted: "This so-called 'Ralph Nader Technique' has obviously been done before, but what makes this so unique is how vast an ideological difference there is between not just Santorum (pro-life) and Romanelli (pro-choice) but also between Romanelli and Casey (pro-life)."

He wouldn't have a prayer of that if the state Dems, in all their great and magnificent wisdom, hadn't chosen a man women can't trust on reproductive health.

I have no problem with anti-choice dems. Because you know what? They won't agree with me on everything anyway, but they will still support Harry Reid for Majority leader and that's the most important thing.

Hey Rickey!!!!! It WON'T work!

I grew up in Pa. and still have relatives & friends there. Everyone of them HATE Rickey!

Back in 2000, several voted for Nader because they didn't like Shrub & didn't like Gore either. NOW they're all appologizing because they know THEY helped put this idiot in the WH!

They learned their lesson Rickey! ou're OUTTA THERE!!

Make This Election Too Close To Call So That They Can Steal It

I only wish I lived in PA so that I could have the extreme pleasure of pulling the lever for Sicky Rantorum's opponent. Hopefully, there are enough smart voters in PA who will do it for me.

I live in PA, but I won't get the chance this year since I'm only 16, but I think enough people will make the right choice to get Ricky out.

Lordy. With friends like those, who needs enemies?

Seriously, a lot of women WILL NOT support Casey because they can't trust him on choice. Either they will vote Green or they will stay home.

Do you really think the party can afford the loss of women voters along with the loss of its traditional working class base? The latter hasn't worked out that well, remember.

And a lot of women will ne wrong

Do you prefer Santorum, an anti-choice Dem, or a green party candidate funded by the pukes? Why does someone have to agree with you on ever single issue?

Yes, and it has worked out quite well in PA with presidential elections.

What will Casey do on abortion? Nothing What has Santorum already done to everything you probably hold dear if you are posting here? It's a no brainer.

Props to JABBS for an intelligent thread. Framing this discussion as a doomed dirty trick by Santorum and his cronies makes much more sense than making the outrageous projection that the Green Party was somehow complicit in this.
