Stewart Quips At Bush's Expense About Border Security

"We talked about security. Look, we got long borders, and we got to make sure we work hard to secure the borders. We also have got to make sure we got smart borders."

-- President Bush, speaking in Mexico, March 31

"That's why ... that's why I've proposed a new program: 'No Border Left Behind.'"

-- Jon Stewart (imitating Bush), Daily Show, April 3

Funny. But Stewart also missed a real joke.
"Smart" in Bushspeak means doing something for as little bit of money as possible, which is of principal importance over effectiveness.
This ensures enough money for those millionnaire tax cuts and Iraq.

So ironic that that only blogging done on borders around here is the posting of a Jon Stewart joke. With all of the day to day coverage of illegal immigration and the many pro-illegal rallies going on all over the country, I find it interesting that JABBS seems to have nothing to say on the subject, almost like it's not even worth talking about.

Oh, I forgot. They can't criticize the President too much in this instance because he's more in sync with the Dems on this one than he is with his own party, or at least with conservatives.

I wonder where some of you stand on this issue? For all the time I've spent here, I know very little about what any of you actually believe in and/or stand for, besides going after President Bush every freakin' chance you get, of course.

Just for the record, I am pro-legal immigrant, but anti-illegal alien, and I am very much at odds with President Bush's stance on this issue. If ever there was a time to criticize him, it's now, yet the silence here is deafening.
