You Can't Make This Stuff Up ...

Check out this photo.

Nice to know President Bush took vigilant notes yesterday at the United Nations. I know I feel more secure knowing the key issues he and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice discussed ...

Even Mike Malloy mentioned it. I hope Jon Stewart has it on his show tonight.

This is one of the dumber things Americans have found out about our president. Right up there with choking on a pretzel or falling off a bicycle (multiple times).

Now think about all the dumb things we haven't found out about.

No surprise that Reuters would take such a pot shot.

So much passion in response to what I said liberals are really after, to destroy this presidency and mock it in any way possible: REMEMBER FOLKS:

“Snoop, I want to get to the bottom of this. I think JABBS wants to get to the bottom of this. The blog you are quoting from (I hope correctly and in context) has a different agenda. Don't wrongly assume that all liberals or Democrats think the same way.
I know that conservative talk radio would have you believe that all Democrats and liberals are American-hating, terrorist-coddling sexual deviants who speak French while drinking lattes, but all that is is a grossly unfair and false stereotypes, designed to anger Red State America, drive up ratings, and put fat paychecks in their pockets.”

Snoop: "Do these blogs post this mess to have like minded people pat them on the back to make them feel good?"

No. They post these articles for three reasons.

1) Because they feel that the mainstream press is under-reporting, or in some cases ignoring, the issues at hand.

2) Because they feel the given issue has been hijacked by the conservative media.

3) Because they need to vent frustration -- because of 1 or 2 above.

Look at the reason JABBS gives for his blog. It's pretty straightforward. You may diagree with the premise, but you can't fault JABBS for sticking to a theme.”

“Snoop, like you, I have that inherent human condition that leans us one way or another politically, I’m but an average shmoe and I like to call it as I see it, be it L or R. But name a previous administration where their actions or inactions have resulted in so many unfortunate, needless deaths. This WH, like the last, didn’t adequately comprehend the abilities of a not-so-unseen enemy or heed intelligence...........”

“The WH should be ashamed of failing us in a time of dire need. But they seem more ashamed of failing where they usually succeed; molding public perception. Anyone that accepts the idea that the White House can adequately investigate the second disaster............”

But today all of these liberals sites posting this note is such the rage.

BUT YOU STILL SAY: “Don't wrongly assume that all liberals or Democrats think the same way.” COULD HAVE FOOLED ME! Happy blogging!

Snoop, I'm hurt you didn't include me in your rant. What, don't I try to destroy this presidency and mock it in any way possible too?

But I have to ask, after looking at your blog: don't you feel just a teensy bit hypocritical criticizing "liberal bloggers" for having a sense of humor about politics?

Anyway, I can only say that you are now enjoying the fruits sown by the Republicans after eight years of no-holds-barred, in-the-gutter, party-above-all Clinton bashing. Republicans lowered the bar. So why are you crying about it now that it is your man sitting in the bulls-eye? Get yourself a tissue, Snoop. There, there.

Snoop, I think you're wrong about JABBS' point.

He didn't necessarily post the photo to mock the president (although I'm sure that other blogs did that).

Look what he wrote:

"Nice to know President Bush took vigilant notes yesterday at the United Nations. I know I feel more secure knowing the key issues he and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice discussed ..."

Ok, he's being sarcastic. But think about it. This is what Bush is writing while listening to a UN speech? This is consuming his thoughts, even for a brief time?

Doesn't it make you wonder whether Bush -- who has shown no love for the UN, and appointed a UN ambassador who doesn't believe in the UN's existence -- cared at all about the speech he was listening to?

I may be reading too much into this, but I think there is some value to JABBS' comment. This isn't just a simple "laugh at the president" post.

That note is taken slightly out of context, but everything can be twisted, so go for it! We all need a laugh.

yes its funny, but is it really something to bash Bush with. Sometimes we all have to go, and when we do its often hard to concentrate on a speaker fully. If you don't know the protocol about bathroom breaks in a situation like that then you ask. Fair enough!

look on the good side, at least he wrote a note instead of whispering his question, which would have looked 100 time more rude.

Ah AD I did not forget about you!
As far as me being hypocritical not at all. I make a point to poke fun AND inform I make no secret about that. Se I wonder why yall don’t post over yonder at Snoops house.
Heck I will post the best anti Bush rant of the day. I’ll make is a regular feature on The Zone.
Now about JABBS, you guys are suppose to be a bit more serious with your posts but I just wondered why the picture story was worth the post. REMEMBER, I have a great sense of humor, I love funny stuff. But you can’t say on the one hand we look at topics SERIOUSLY, and then post stuff like the note, C’mon fellas tis all I’m sayin’

“Anyway, I can only say that you are now enjoying the fruits sown by the Republicans after eight years of no-holds-barred, in-the-gutter, party-above-all Clinton bashing. Republicans lowered the bar. Dude if you visited my blog U don’t think I like satire. Democrat satire is just funnier.
You guys are far more funnier when you not in the majority.
Harry Reid, Pelosi, Hillary, the Cindy Sheehan crowd OH I HAVE TO POST MY NEW LOGO OF HER)

I think Kav has got the correct answer on this. Sometimes biological needs do take precedence over work responsibilities.

Bush1 threw up on the Japanese Prime Minister,
Dubya choked on a pretzel,
and Clinton did an intern.

It's really no big deal, is it? We've all been there.

OK...you can blame snoop for me being here.... First, hypocrisy seems to abound in ALL political circles. Human beings, in general, are reallllly good at seeing in other people what we do not want to see in ourselves. That said, anyone who regularly reads newspapers or watches TV and who does not already have a particular leaning toward or away from one party MUST be able to see/admit that at least 80% of all journalists are liberal and/or Democrat!!!? And with that goes an inherent human bias - meaning they are going to be in PAIN if they have to report anything positive about a politician or person with whom their own "side" disagrees! Saying "I am kidding" to cover up what is in fact was meant to be a well placed JAB is like telling someone "I am kidding" right after you poke fun at their choice of dates or clothes or something. Lame lame lame. Just admit it. You HATE Bush, always have and always will. Whether he deserves praise or stink bombs, the only thing he'll be getting from YOU is the latter! PS - if this shows up 45 times, it's because I keep typing the stupid letters, but it's not posting!!!

undergod -- you, like Snoop, want us to admit we "hate" Bush. It fits in well with your preconceived notion that anyone who criticizes the president must hate the president.

Not true. That's why the blog is called JABBS, and not Journalists Who Hate Bush. It's not even Journalists Against Bush.

It's Journalists Against Bush's B.S. -- simply, it's fighting the spin from the White House, from the conservative pundtiry. Part of that spin is that this president has never made a mistake -- recall the press conference where Bush labored to answer the question -- and that he is a great leader.

The fact that he has to write a note to Condi saying he may need a bathroom break -- besides being funny -- certainly raises questions. Why did he have to write a note to his Secretary of State? How long did he spend considering his options?

See above that there were some conservatives who called this a "pot shot." Go ahead. Blame the messenger, the conservative myth known as "liberal media bias."

To sum up, no undergod, There's no reasons for JABBS to say he hates Bush. Few among the respondents would. Why? Because we don't hate Bush.

We may be disappointed by him. We may find fault with his actions or his spinning of those actions. But he's our president. We may want to see a Democrat in 2008, but that doesn't mean we hate our president, like the un-American, soft-on-terror, Volvo-driving, latte-sipping, gay-hugging abortionists that conservatives stereotype us as. It's a Rush Limbaugh fantasy. But it's simply not true, no matter how many conservatives scream it from the rafters.

P.S. Congrats on posting only once, in spite of the confusing letters.
