You Can't Make This Stuff Up ...

CAMPBELL BROWN: Were you in that press conference as a plant by the White House?

J.D. GUCKERT (aka Jeff Gannon): Absolutely not. I mean, look at it, Campbell. If the White House was going to use a plant, wouldn't they pick a better one than me?"

Of course they would. But the Bush Administration selected Guckert believing if it had planted a third-rate journalists from a third-rate website, as opposed to a well-know journalists from a major publication, it would escape detection. The Administration guessed wrong.
Awww shucks. Give the Administration some credit. The fact that Guckert is such a nobody in the journalism field has managed to keep the scandal off the front pages.

I take to opposite meaning from the events: to me it proves how amazingly arrogant and brazen they are. They weren't very careful because, hell, what's anyone going to do about it, eh?

Bush has a perfect record for getting caught doing the wrong thing and then getting a pass.

So far it looks as if nothings changed.
